Each commission is tailored to your vision, from the initial concept to the final framed piece. Our process ensures collaboration at every stage, so the finished portrait exceeds your expectations.
Share high-quality photos of your car, along with your vision for the piece. We’ll discuss size options, composition preferences, and any specific details you want emphasized. Based on our conversation and the complexity of your vehicle, we’ll provide a personalized quote and estimated timeline.
Step 2: Deposit & Collaboration
Once you’re ready to proceed, a 30% deposit secures your commission slot in our schedule. At this stage, we’ll finalize the composition, discussing angles, background elements, and the overall mood of the piece. This ensures the portrait captures exactly what makes your car special to you.
Step 3: Creation & Progress Updates
Over the next 3-4 weeks, your portrait comes to life through careful, methodical charcoal work. We’ll share progress updates at key milestones—initial sketch, mid-point development, and detail refinement. This timeline allows for the depth, accuracy, and dramatic quality that makes charcoal portraiture so captivating. Rush commissions (10-14 days) are occasionally available for an additional 50% fee, subject to our current workload.
Step 4: Completion, Framing & Delivery
Once the portrait is complete, we’ll share final images for your approval. The remaining balance is due before delivery.
Professional framing is available to perfectly complement your artwork. Frame options vary based on size and style preferences, with pricing discussed during the final stages.
